Reducing home energy use saves money and cuts greenhouse gas emissions. Even small daily changes add up. Start by adopting simple habits: turn off lights when you leave a room, unplug chargers or electronics that aren’t in use, and wash full loads of laundry or dishes (ideally in cold water). Use natural daylight when possible (open curtains in winter for warmth, close them in summer to keep cool), and set your thermostat a few degrees lower in winter or higher in summer.
