This one is a bit of a tricky one.
Why you might ask?
Well they seem to be good but I believe they could be better. Let's expand on that.
Let's start with the why they are good. They are a B Corp and as you know by now they have to abide by a certain set of rules which means that they are doing some good. Also they are promoting active travelling which is a great way of seeing new places and you don't use motorised methods of transport. This is a big plus. They also seem to provide a great deal of support and information regarding your trip and your itenary.
There are too many holiday makers with questionable information regarding the holiday package.
Now let's discuss the less positive points. First of all, the accommodation. I believe that they could have a more local approach to it, a bit less luxury. I understand that they are tailoring this type of holidays for a wealthy public but by providing more humble stays, the carbon emission of the travel would be reduced and it would create more investment in the local economy. The Second thing is the price. These holidays are not quite cheap. The packages do not include flights to the places and this would increase the price even more. This could also be see as a positive. A way of making active travelling more elevated.
It is also worth mentioning that this is not a sustainable travelling company, they are simple a self-guided tour company with an eco-conscious mentality. This is why I decide to bring them here. They have great options for active travel and for a different type of holiday and while doing that they also provide you with an idea on your travelling emissions and that way you can see how much your holiday will affect the environment.
Let's create our favourite list of PROS and CONS.
PROS:
Creates active travelling holiday packages
Many different types of holidays
You can have an idea of your environmental impact
B Corp
CONS:
Still has a considerable amount of car and flight travel
Prices are quite high
Could be more involved with the local community instead of using so many hotels
Could create more sustainability oriented holidays
Do we think Inntravel is good or bad? Somewhere in the middle. They seem to be good but could be doing better, we believe.
